Grand Prix Insights: The Monocoque

The monocoque is the safety cell of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One car of Nico Rosberg. It was the aircraft industry which used carbon fibre monocoques first, only to be adapted by F1. It is light, but very strong. In case of an impact, only the nose is supposed to crumble.
