Moto3 and Moto2 team boss Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' says he feels "great excitement and a lot of joy" at the proposal to restart the 2020 motorcycle grand prix season with two races at Jerez in late July.
The Aspar Team will return to racing in 2020 as the squad reverts to its original name while keeping strong ties to Angel Nieto through the Angel Nieto Foundation.
Ahead of next week's rescheduled final pre-season MotoE test, at Valencia, the Aspar team has presented its 2019 livery for Nico Terol and María Herrera.
The Angel Nieto Team, owned by former racer Jorge Martinez 'Aspar', has reached an agreement with the Sepang International Circuit to form a new MotoGP team, which is expected to receive backing from Petronas, and has taken up the satellite Yamaha team.
Alvaro Bautista heads into round three of the 2018 MotoGP season, at Austin this weekend, with just three points to his name. Those points came from 13th place in the season-opening Qatar MotoGP with Bautista, like team-mate Karel Abraham, outside the top 15 in Argentina.

Aspar is to be renamed as the 'Angel Nieto Team' in tribute to the late '12+1' world champion, a former rival and mentor of Jorge Martinez 'Aspar'. In addition, Angel's son Gelete will join as team principal for 2018.
