2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

22:42

The No.83 has pitted from the lead on lap 127. Estre now leads.

22:38

The No.50 has come in for its stop now.

22:36

The No.83 won't be far off a stop, which will put Estre into the lead.

Those positions will cycle when he stops, but it will be interesting to see where the No.6 Porsche ends up gap-wise after his stop on this fuel offset.

22:35

Full tank for the No.51 and it's on its way again.

22:34

The No.51 Ferrari of Calado has pitted on lap 125.

22:33

The No.27 Aston in LMGT3 has just been told "pace is good, fastest car on track, don't forget you've got another 15 laps on this tyre".

The No.27 pole car with Matteo Drudi driving is sixth in class currently, though is some two minutes off the leading No.46 BMW.

22:30

The No.15 BMW of Kevin Magnussen is under investigation for pitlane speeding. That car actually was sent back out and is ninth after that engine issue he reported.

22:29

You know, things might just be coming Porsche's way a little here. Estre has 43% left in his virtual energy tank. The No.51 is on 12%, the No.83 on 26% and the No.50 on 19%. Still such a long way to go, but that extra fuel/energy could play dividends later on in this race.

22:26

The No.83 AF Corse car with Phil Hanson behind the wheel is about 11s clear of the No.51 factory car of James Calado on lap 122. Estre has pulled a few seconds on the No.50 in third.

22:25

A quick check on the No.46 WRT car in LMGT3 and it is almost 50 seconds clear of the No.92 Manthey Porsche.

22:22

The No.6 Porsche has passed the No.50 Ferrari for third.

Estre was much closer to the No.50 after the latter served his penalty. We haven't actually seen that move on screen.

22:21

The drivers are being warned of a slippery surface for gravel on track at Mulsanne.

22:19

The No.15 BMW is being wheeled back into its garage as the WRT team gets to work diagnosing the engine issue Magnussen reported.

22:19
Penalty - No.35 Alpine

The No.35 Alpine has been given a drive-through for that earlier collision with the No.94 Peugeot.

22:18

The No.15 is in. The No.5- has also been into the pits, presumably for its drive-through.

22:17

The No.15 BMW of Kevin Magnussen has just said "the engine completely switched off" following a small off.

22:16

The No.48 VDS Panis Racing car leads LMP2 by over 40 seconds right now with Esteban Masson at the wheel. But there's a possible penalty coming here as the team boss has been summoned to race control.

22:15

Kevin Estre's stint in the No.6 Porsche is not really seeing him eat into the Ferrari lead. He's 36.538s off the the leading No.83.

22:13
Penalty - No.311 Whelen Cadillac

The No.311 Whelen Cadillac in ninth spot with Jack Aitken at the wheel also now has a drive-through for a yellow flag infringement.

22:12

Top 10 in Hypercar on lap 117:

  1. No.83 AF Corse Ferrari
  2. No.50 Ferrari
  3. No.51 Ferrari
  4. No.6 Porsche
  5. No.20 BMW
  6. No.8 Toyota
  7. No.15 BMW
  8. No.4 Porsche
  9. No.311 Whelen Cadillac
  10. No.5 Porsche
22:10
Penalty - No.93 Peugeot

Another yellow flag infringement penalty, this time for the No.93 Peugeot, which must serve a drive-through. That car is second-to last right now.

22:07
Penalty - No.50 Ferrari

The No.50 Ferrari has been given a drive-through penalty for a yellow flag infringement. That car is second right now with Nicklas Nielsen at the wheel.

That's fairly significant in this victory battle!

22:05

The No.34 Inter Europol car of Luca Ghiotto has been given a drive-through for a yellow flag infringement.

22:04

If there is one thing that's going to get Porsche back into some kind of position to challenge the Ferraris it's Kevin Estre.

He's 38soff the lead right now on lap 116.

22:03

The No.83 AF Corse Ferrari leads by 5.4s from the No.50 Ferrari and the No.51.
