2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

The No.50 has been told to "give me your best for 12 laps and then we can change tyres, no problem".

Ferrari wants to keep the No.50 well out of reach of the No.6 Porsche in that battle for third. Not sure what else the No.6 has in reserve to challenge this.

09:18

The No.83 is now in the pits from second. New tyres for the No.83, more fuel and Yifei Ye in the car.

09:15

Miguel Molina has jumped into that No.50 car, which has taken new tyres and fuel.

09:14

The No.50 Ferrari is in for a stop on lap 293.

09:12

This has been my first time at Le Mans, so there has been a lot to get to grips with.

One thing I haven't quite been able to figure out is why paddock tours keep coming through the media centre, as if it's a zoo. That said, if any of those people would like to drop off some snacks, maybe a cup of tea, then that'd be great!

09:09

The No.50 Ferrari made a little bit of contact with an LMGT3 car a little while go. Only little but a reminder of just how quickly things can bite you in this race.

2025 24 Hours of Le Mans - Hour 18 report

Report after 18 hours of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

09:01

The No.183 AF Corse LMP2 car has been in for its pitstop and the team rectified the number screen issue... by slapping a big 183 sticker over it!

09:00
2025 24 Hours of Le Mans - Hour 19

Just six hours to go in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans!

The No.51 Ferrari still leads as Hour 19 begins, Giovinazzi's gap over the No.83 AF Corse Ferrari 6.7s clear.

The No.50 Ferrari is third and extending over the No.6 Porsche.

08:58

Great battle in LMGT3 for fourth between the No.27 Aston Martin that was on pole and the No.78 Lexus that has raged across what is lap 253 for the class. The No.27 of Mattia Drudi, however, looks to have gotten this one sorted.

08:54

At this stage as we close in on the end of hour 18, the battle for third is going Ferrari's way too as the No.50 stretches the advantage over the No.6 Porsche to around 14s.

08:51

If Robert Kubica wasn't happy earlier on, he'll be fuming now because he's 8.3s back of the No.51 Ferrari of Giovinazzi as of lap 286.

08:48

The No.183 AF Corse LMP2 entry of Francois Perrodo has been told by the stewards to box to fix the door number panel on the door. Technology giveth and technology taketh away, unfortunately.

That car is 10th in class.

08:47

In the LMP2 class, the No.43 Inter Europole has Tom Dillmann behind the wheel and leads by 19.6s from the No.48 VDS Panis Racing of Oliver Gray.

In LMGT3, Porsche is in full control of that class right now as the No.92 Manthey car sits over a minute clear of the No.21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari.

08:45

So, after that pitstop cycle, the No.51 leads by 5.5s from the No.83.

The No.50 Ferrari of Antonio Fuoco is third, about 12s up the road from the No.6 Porsche of Matt Campbell.

At the moment, we have two distinct battles happening at the front: the battle for the lead between the No.51 and the No.83, and the battle for third between the No.50 Ferrari and the No.6 Porsche.

08:43

Ah, it's not tyres going on. They're out just in case, but it's just fuel going into that No.6 car.

08:42

Fresh tyres and fuel going onto that No.6 Porsche.

08:41

The No.6 Porsche of Matt Campbell is in from the lead on lap 284.

08:39

So that stint extend has worked well for the No.51 as it is about 4.5s clear of the No.83 after rejoining in second. The No.6 Porsche leads but is due a stop.

08:37

And the No.51 is in from the lead.

08:35

The No.83 has come in for its stop now from second.

08:31

The No.50 Ferrari is in from third.

08:26

The No.83 is being told to keep piling pressure as Giovinazzi in the No.51 is "complaining of thermal deg".

The gap is still about 1.5s.

08:24

LMP2 top 10:

  1. No.43 Inter Europol
  2. No.48 VDS Panis Racing
  3. No.9 Iron Lynx - Proton
  4. No.28 IDEC Sport
  5. No.199 AO by TF
  6. No.22 United Autosports
  7. No.34 Inter Europol
  8. No.183 AF Corse
  9. No.11 Proton Competition
  10. No.29 TDS Racing
08:23

The No.93 Peugeot is last in the Hypercar class right now behind the No.007 Aston.

The No.93 is six laps down, the Aston three laps down.
