After a nightmare weekend at Misano, Cal Crutchlow returned to the MotoGP top-six at Aragon on Sunday. The LCR Honda rider worked his way gradually forwards from eighth to finish in sixth place, five-seconds from the podium.

Jack Miller says he needed binoculars to see Marc Marquez after moving into second place on the opening lap of the Aragon MotoGP but was satisfied with his first podium since the Brno round.

Colton Herta continued the Herta family’s success at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca by rocketing to the pole for the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.

Felix Rosenqvist nipped Josef Newgarden to pace the final pre-qualifying practice session while title challengers Josef Newgarden and Simon Pagenaud flexed their muscle in the 45 minutes session.

Marquez takes a home pole position for the Aragon MotoGP ahead of Yamaha riders Quartararo and Vinales. Miller was top Ducati in fourth, while Espargaro claimed an excellent fifth for Aprilia, helped by a tow.

Aleix Espargaro claimed his best MotoGP qualifying since 2017 with a surprise fifth on the grid for Aprilia at Aragon.

Marc Marquez may have dominated at Aragon so far this weekend but the Repsol Honda rider is eager to measure his charge ahead of the race with concerns over suffering a repeat to his Americas MotoGP earlier this season.
