ACU British Supercross Championship cancelled.

Brian Higgins of the ACU's Motocross Committee has announced that the ACU Datatag British Supercross Championship, scheduled to run over the next three weeks - 26th November, 3rd December and 10th December - has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

The ACU received a copy of a press release at 1400hrs on Tuesday 22nd November 2005, issued by Gareth Hockey of promoters RHL Activities Ltd.

"Obviously, the ACU are very disappointed the championship has had to be cancelled, at this late stage as many riders, both Youth and Adult, have made special arrangements for travelling to the events," said Higgins.

"Whilst we have to respect the commercial decision of Promoters who make a huge financial commitment in staging this type of event, the ACU would normally expect to be involved in such an important decision."

The ACU added that the initial priority is now to ensure that all riders and teams are informed of the cancellation prior to any making their journey to the first round at the NEC, Birmingham this weekend (26th November).

Once this has been completed, attention will be given to reimbursing monies to all teams and riders.

The Wulfsport British Supercross Championship, promoted by Future West, is unaffected.
