Alex Marquez tops Practice

The chequered flag is out in Jerez and it's Alex Marquez who completes a sweep of Friday's practice sessions.

Bagnaia second and Franco Morbidelli in third place, while Marc Marquez takes fourth.

Quartararo is the top-non-Ducati in fifth, ahead of Aldeguer, Zarco, Acosta, Di Giannantonio, and Mir who completes the top-10.

15:15

Acosta improves on his final lap for eighth, Binder improves as well but only 11th for him.

15:15

Mistake from Marquez at turn six and that's his final lap gone. He'll be safe for Q2, though, in P3.

15:14

Marc Marquez perhaps the rider most affected by yellows in this session. He hasn't improved yet on his second time attack but just starting a final lap now, although it's no improvement in the first sector.

15:13

Quartararo gets the factory Yamaha back in the top-10 in fifth, and immediately sends it into the gravel at turn one with less than a minute left on the clock.

15:12

Another one at turn six, Joan Mir this time.

15:12

Alex Marquez with a new lap record on a 1:35.991. That's a bit of history there. Not a bad recovery for the rider who was half-an-hour in the medical centre earlier on this afternoon.

15:11

A crash for Ai Ogura now at turn six. Maverick Vinales ran in hot behind him, too.

15:10

Raul Fernandez has crashed at turn six.

15:09

Some lap from Bagnaia, goes to the top with a 1:36.094.

Jack Miller crashed behind him at turn nine but seems okay.

15:08

Aleix Espargaro not exactly here this weekend for headline times, and he goes 20th with his latest lap on a 1:37.392.

15:07

Di Giannantonio off-sequence with the rest and he goes fifth, just behind Bagnaia, and all of the six Ducatis are now in the top-six positions. Bezzecchi the first non-Ducati in seventh.

15:04

Quartararo's crash has left him eighth after the early time attacks. But he's back in the pits now with his crashed bike.

15:03

Alex Marquez goes third with his latest lap, and Aldeguer's gone fifth on the second Gresini bike.

15:02

Marquez again improving, and this time he's uninterrupted at the last corner and goes to the top on a 1:36.258. 0.078s advantage for Marquez.

15:01

Bagnaia now going strongly, but Morbidelli behind him goes fastest on a 1:36.336.

15:01

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez is flying. He was almost 0.3s up after three splits but with yellows out for Quartararo's crash at the last corner he's bailed out.

15:00

Quartararo was on an incredible lap, 0.3s up after three splits but he folded the front in the final corner. A big shame for the Frenchman but he looks ok at least.

14:57

Di Giannantonio the only rider currently on track. He just did a PB to go 15th.

He's now on his way in as the two factory Yamahas head out.

17 minutes still to go in PR.

14:54

Two laps in a row now Ogura has lost 0.3s or so in the final split. Seventh after his first time attack.

14:53

TV world feed reporting that Alex Marquez is about to head back out. Some reported concern over his right wrist after his crash now over 30 minutes ago.
