2025 Official Aragon MotoGP Test - LIVE UPDATES!

Live test updates from Monday's Official Aragon MotoGP test.

Following Sunday’s Aragon MotoGP, teams and riders have returned to MotorLand for the second Official in-season test of the 2025 world championship.

As for the grand prix weekend, Aprilia's Jorge Martin, HRC’s Luca Marini and Trackhouse rookie Ai Ogura are absent due to injury.

However, Moto2 title leader Manuel Gonzalez is set to make his premier-class debut with a 'one-off' ride on the available RS-GPs of Ogura.

Testing is split into two sessions, from 10am to 1pm and 1:20pm-6pm, with practice starts in-between and at the end of the day.

10mins remaining and Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi shots to the top, ending Marc Marquez's reign on top of the Aragon timesheets, which began in FP1 on Friday morning.

Marquez has already finished testing and just spoke to the media. Tested aero, liked it but they need to be sure before they homologate. Again insisted GP25 and GP24 are the same. Does not feel a real difference with different brake sizes... and revealed one of the surgeons who operated on his right arm is now a fan of MotoGP!

16:31

Half an hour of testing to go - Session 2 order: Marc Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer, Maverick Vinales, Pedro Acosta, Marco Bezzecchi, Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Quartararo, Fabio di Giannantonio, Francesco Bagnaia, Brad Binder.

Marc Marquez has both of his bikes fitted with the standard fairing after trying the black alternative version earlier.

16:15

Johann Zarco has just done his media debrief, he really likes Honda's new carbon fibre swingarm.

The Frenchman also tried the latest MotoGP radio system but, like others, had issues hearing clearly on the straight due to noise and helmet movement displacing the 'bone conduction' earphones.

Said he'd prefer to use an in-ear F1-style system.

15:05

Fermin Aldeguer was delighted with his lap time, but admitted the grippy track conditions were 'unreal'. The rookie tried different set-ups to understand how the bike behavior changed for future tracks. He's still second to Marc Marquez at the moment.

14:38

Alex Marquez just spoke to the media, he also tried the radio today. Said they had a voice message playing on loop. Main issue, as for Savadori, was hearing it at full speed on the straight.

Alex also said he had not been asked to try the GP25, after Francesco Bagnaia suggested earlier in the weekend that it might be useful to get the opinion of other riders. Bagnaia had named 2nd in the championship Alex as his first choice to try it.

Riders speak to the media at lunchtime

Marco Bezzecchi, Lorenzo Savadori, Miguel Oliveira, Somkiat Chantra, Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales have spoken to the Aragon track media so far.

Marco Bezzecchi was tight-lipped on the new Aprilia aero but admitted it could be their one in-season update.

Lorenzo Savadori gave detailed answers on the latest in helmet radio test. He was only listening, not speaking, this time, to messages from Race Direction. Still a problem hearing clearly on the straights due to the noise... which is exactly where you want to be able to hear the messages.

Miguel Oliveira was fine after his crash and is trying the various M1 upgrades. He will also take part in Yamaha's private test at Barcelona this week, alongside team-mate Jack Miller. Pramac told the media to only ask Oliveira questions about the test and nothing else...

Fabio Quartararo felt small improvements from the Yamaha parts but continued to feel uncomfortable with the electronics. Remains concerned that even after a full race weekend, they are not on top of it. He and Alex Rins will not ride in the private Yamaha test, having done the previous one.

Maverick Vinales tried the mass damper in the KTM 'salad box' again, thinks it has good potential to help reduce vibrations but if it's not working perfectly can make things worse. He also liked the turning ability of the new aero but needs to improve set-up under braking. As with Aprilia, this could be their one in-season fairing upgrade.

None of the riders who spoke at lunch have tested the 2026 Michelin front tyre yet, but they all plan to do so this afternoon. Quartararo and Vinales already feel it works well enough to be introduced next year.

A final decision on whether to introduce the new front will be made after this test.

12:57

LCR Honda's Johann Zarco is only the third rider on track in Session 2.

12:53

Despite the early afternoon heat, rookie Aldeguer has set a 1m 45.958s to be the only rider other than Marc Marquez to go into the '45s so far today.

12:47

Session 2 is officially underway, but most riders and teams are having lunch, with only Fermin Aldeguer and Pedro Acosta having set a lap time.

Manuel Gonzalez is also taking part in the practice starts during his debut MotoGP test.

12:03

Session 1 ends with Marc Marquez fastest from Maverick Vinales, Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo.

There will now be the first of today's practice start periods, before Session 2 begins at 1:20pm.

11:52

Sounds like Pramac Yamaha's Miguel Oliveira was another to suffer a fall earlier today, meaning Monster Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo is up to third place.

Yamaha is thought to have engine, aero and swingarm options available to try.

11:45

After Francesco Bagnaia's much-needed front-end progress with the bigger brake disc in Sunday's race, VR46's GP25 rider Fabio di Giannantonio looks to be trying it today.

11:44

20mins of Session 1 to go and Marc Marquez is the only rider in the 1m 45s, with VR46's Franco Morbidelli 0.347s behind.

11:36

It looks like HRC's Joan Mir, who took his best MotoGP finish since India 2023 with 7th on Sunday, is trying the carbon fibre swingarm that has been developed by test riders Aleix Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami.
