MotoGP rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu chats with Yamaha test rider and former MotoGP title runner-up Andrea Dovizioso during the opening morning of the Buriram test.
The reigning WorldSBK champion, making his debut at the Thai track, finished Session 1 in 21st place on the Pramac Yamaha V4.
That put Razgatlioglu ahead of only Ducati test rider Michele Pirro, 2.087s behind leader Francesco Bagnaia but only 0.349s from the fellow Yamaha of Alex Rins.
This was Marc Marquez's first crash on day one of the Buriram MotoGP test, under braking for the final corner (Turn 12).
The reigning MotoGP champion later fell again at Turn 5 and finished Session 1 in fifth place.
The first practice start session of the day is now underway, before Session 2 begins at 1:20pm.

Jack Miller is the latest rider to be caught out, this time at Turn 8. The Pramac rider is the top Yamaha, in 13th on the new V4.

Marc Marquez has suffered his second crash of the day, this time at Turn 5, an in-field left-hander. "Rider OK". The reigning champion is currently eighth fastest.

Trackhouse Aprilia's Ai Ogura, who made a spectacular MotoGP debut at Buriram a year ago, has crashed at Turn 1. "Rider OK".

Francesco Bagnaia reclaims P1 by 0.135s from Jorge Martin.

After Luca Marini briefly returned to the top, Aprilia's Jorge Martin leads the Buriram test timesheets on his 26th lap of the year!

Maverick Vinales is reported to have stopped at Turn 3. The Tech3 KTM is currently 13th, 1.2s from Bagnaia.
Buriram is a new track for WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu. The Pramac Yamaha rider is currently 21st and ahead of only VR46 stand-in Michele Pirro.

Francesco Bagnaia goes even faster to take over P1 from Acosta by 0.024s.
