Gauloises M1's are GO!!!!!!! from Malaysia.
As revealed by Shinja Nakano at Estoril, Yamaha will increase its current four-stroke contingent by two machines for the final three rounds of the 2002 MotoGP calendar - the Malaysian, Australian, and Valencia MotoGPs.
The two additional factory YZR-M1s will run under the Gauloises Yamaha Tech 3 insignia, with one machine apiece going to the teams riders Shinya Nakano, 2001 MotoGP Rookie of The Year, and 2000 GP250 World Champion Olivier Jacque.

In the period leading up to the Malaysian MotoGP, due to be held at the Sepang on October 11-13, the Gauloises Yamaha Tech 3 team will continue with its current fleet of YZR500 two-strokes - which will take in the Rio, Brazil (September 19-21) and Motegi, Japan (October 4-6) rounds.
Also joining the MotoGP field at Malaysia will be an extra RCV for the West Honda Pons team, while Kawasaki are rumoured to be entering their prototype machine, prior to their full entry next season.
