2025 Isle of Man TT: Monday 2 June Races as it happened

Recap Monday 2 June at the 2025 Isle of Man TT

The opening race day of the 2025 Isle of Man TT takes place today (Monday 2 June), with three races scheduled to go ahead.

Racing was due to begin on Saturday 31 May with the opening Supersport TT, but numerous weather interruptions across qualifying week led to a major schedule change.

Race action will now begin two days later than planned on Monday, with the Superbike TT returning to its slot as race week opener - something that hasn't happened since 2022.

It has been shortened to four laps from six to accommodate the packed three-race programme for Monday. The Superbike race will be followed by the first Sidecar race of the week, with the first Supersport contest set to conclude the day's action.

The three-lap Supersport TT was due to be the curtain-raiser for TT 2025 on Saturday.

Monday 2 June schedule:

  • Superbike TT - 12:00 BST (4 laps)
  • Sidecar TT 1 - 2pm BST (2 laps)
  • Supersport TT 1 - 15:00 (3 laps)

Monday contingency canned

Organisers have announced that this evening's contingency plan will not be used due to a weather warning.

So, if we don't get everything in by 5pm then we'll have further schedule revisions.

Sidecar TT 1 shortened

Due to the Superbike delay, the Sidecar race has been reduced by one lap and is delayed by 15 minutes.

So, it's now due to start at 1:30pm and run over two laps.

Michael Dunlop ended final practice on Sunday fastest on his new BMW. But it's been a tight week at the top, with Davey Todd and Dean Harrison amongst it.

There will be a notable absentee from this Superbike race - and the rest of the week.

Peter Hickman, 14-time TT winner, crashed during practice and suffered numerous injuries. Thankfully, he's out of hospital and on the mend.

Three races scheduled to take place today.

First up is the reduced four-lap Superbike TT. It was due to be run over six laps on Sunday, but weather delays have forced a change.

Then at 1:15pm currently it's due to be the three-lap Sidecar TT.

All going well, we'll have the three-lap Supersport race at 3pm.

10:18

The reason for the delay is an oil spill on the course.

Roads are now closed, so hopefully this delay shouldn't drag on.
