Burza recall hurts Berwick at Glasgow.
Berwick were hit before this match even started with the news very late on Saturday night that new Pole, Stanislaw Burza had been called back to Poland for a match in his home Country on Sunday.
Rebels bag useful first leg lead.
With most of the West Country effected by rain, and the Plymouth meeting taking an early bath, fans were greeted to the unusual sight of the Oak Tree Arena track being watered amidst gathering rain clouds.
Sidecar Success at Scunthorpe
Sidecar speedway came to the Scunthorpe Raceway for the very first time this afternoon and the crowd, most of them seeing a sidecar meeting for the first time, were served up with some excellent racing in the first round of the Wulfsport British Sidecar Speedway Championship.
World speedway heads to Olympic pastures
The 2006 FIM Speedway World Championship heads to the expansive Olympic Stadium in Wroclaw (Poland) this Saturday night, with Australian Leigh Adams talking tough on the eve of battle.

Waite enthuses about new signing.
Following Berwick Speedway's separation with Adrian Rymel, the action has been hot and heavy as Peter Waite went about the business of signing a suitable replacement, and now we know, the new man is 28-year-old-Pole, Stanislaw Burza, who's spent the last 9 years with Tarnow in his native Poland.
Romanek takes a break
Arena-Essex Speedway boss, Ronnie Russell, today announced that Pole Lukasz Romanek would be taking a break from racing in this Country. He has experienced problems adapting to the demands of racing over here and has struggled with the language.

SGP race to 'Speedy' sponsorship.
Speedy Hire Plc (Speedy) is to extend its current sponsorship with BSI and the world championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP).
Diamonds go down in Glasgow.
The meeting hadn't even started and there were problems for the Newcastle team. Some two hours earlier the Glasgow promotion lodged a complaint against Newcastle's use of Edinburgh's Derek Sneddon in place of the banned Jamie Robertson.
Hammers through on aggregate. Hurry hurt.
The Arena-Essex Speedway team went down by 20 points at Peterborough on Thursday evening in the second leg of their Knockout Cup tie against the Panthers but still managed the aggregate win by four points following their superb home victory the previous Friday by 24 points.
ICE racing heads to Puerto Rico
The 30th Annual World Championship ICE Racing Series Grand Finale will top off a very special season on April 22nd & 23rd in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The last two World Championship Points Rounds will take place at the beautiful Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
Crump wins 'Cracker.'
Former World Champion Jason Crump was victorious in the Sean Cracker at Owlerton on Sunday - winning a Final which would have graced the last race of a Grand Prix. A bumper crowd enjoyed a well-organised and fully competitive meeting which was packed full of quality, safe racing.
Snow forces 'Cracker' back to next Sunday.
Sean Wilson will stage his 20-year benefit meeting next Sunday, March 19 - after heavy snow forced the postponement of the event this weekend.
Back straight terracing open for 'Sean Cracker.'
Sheffield will open the back straight at Owlerton for the first time since 2002 with a large crowd expected for Sunday's Sean Wilson Cracker (5pm). Wilson's 20-year benefit meeting has attracted a host of top riders for what could be his last on-track appearance at his former club.

Meldrum back with home town club.
Berwick's preparations for the new season took one more vital step to completion on Wednesday with the signing of one of the most successful speedway riders to actually come out of the town of Berwick upon Tweed, and he is the Local Hero, 28-year-old David Meldrum.

Hot on the heels of Berwick's first signing for 2006, Cumbrian, Craig Branney, comes news that the Berwick management have excelled themselves with the signing of a new Swede to British League racing, and he is the exceptional 27-year-old from Kroken, Andreas Bergstrom.

Teenage tearaway Chris Holder has retained his Australian Under 21 Speedway Championship with a superb performance at Gillman (SA) on February 4.

The Australian Under 21 Speedway Championship will be held at the 300-metre Gillman Speedway (SA) on February 3-4, with Queenslander Troy Batchelor and defending champion Chris Holder expected to lead the pyrotechnics display.

Berwick Bandits boss Peter Waite has acted quickly to respond to reports in recent press outlets that Berwick Speedway is up for sale. His reaction follows quotes published from the former Glasgow boss, Brian Sands that hit the public domain yesterday.
World Cup Ice Racing off to a flyer.
The historic first ever Manufacturers World Cup Ice Racing Championship was welcomed with enthusiasm by 5,000 plus Portland, OR race fans. A fine field of riders, on meticulously prepared factory 450 race bikes weren't the least bit tentative as they took to the thickened sheet of ice.
Hauzinger joins Newcastle.
Newcastle Diamonds announce the signing of 23-year-old Austrian Manuel Hauzinger, the Diamonds first Austrian rider. Hauzinger is an Isle of Wight asset and come in on a 3.14 average, well underneath the 4.68 available for the last space in the Diamonds' top five.
