Dick Johnson said that the team was thrilled to be in association with INXS and was looking forward to a strong year together on and off the track.

"Dick Johnson Racing is thrilled to have INXS on board as part of the team," Dick Johnson said.

"I think the relationship is a good one for both DJR and INXS.

"We will be cross promoting the DJR brand with INXS on our web pages and looking to increase our profile in the mainstream media.

"There are also promotional opportunities with INXS and the DJR drivers.

"We hope to get a lot out of it and can see a lot of advantages."

Johnson believes the arrangement is perfect for both DJR and INXS.

"If you look at things sport and music have always gone hand in hand with each other," Johnson said.

"INXS played at Clipsal last year and has had a strong association with motorsport.

"We probably look at each other and see many similarities, both seeing the attractive side of the respective jobs.

"We share very exciting, high profile lives."

For INXS the chance to involve itself with Dick Johnson Racing was an opportunity that was too good to pass up.

"I have very fond memories as a young boy watching Brockie and a young Dick Johnson on the dirt each weekend," INXS bass guitarist Garry Beers said.

"I got hooked on motorsports from a young age; I always loved watching Bathurst - and still do.

"INXS has welcomed, and is excited about, the new relationship with someone of Dick's statue and his incredible history within the sport.

"I am a proud owner of a '67 XR GT and really couldn't think of a better team to be associated with, not to mention to be a part of the most successful Ford team in V8 Supercar racing."

Band mate Tim Farriss shares Garry's passion for motorsports.

"If you have never seen a V8 Supercar race I highly recommend you do - it's absolutely fantastic."

"I'm looking forward to another great year of racing."
