Orrcon re-sign Bargs, Winterbottom.

Orrcon Racing has announced that Jason Bargwanna and Mark Winterbottom will both continue with the team for the 2006 V8 Supercar season.

The decision to announce the deals with three races still to run in the season will allow the team to focus on the remainder of the year and also start to plan for 2006, when both drivers will hope to overcome much of the bad luck which has plagued them in 2005.

"We have renewed the contracts with both of our drivers in the past week and are very pleased to have done so," team owner Mark Larkham said. "2005 isn't what I would call a hallmark year for a whole range of reasons including plenty of 'Murphy's Law' so to speak, and incidents like the China drain. As such we see the best road forward for this team is with its current drivers.

"Can we do a better job? Yes we can. Are we all working on that? Absolutely. Collectively this team and its drivers have a firm belief that if we continue to apply ourselves as we did as recently as Bathurst last weekend, results are just around the corner. Most importantly I believe we share a common passion and commitment required to achieve that."

Larkham added that the mixture of youth and experience in his driver line-up was important to the future success of the team.

"Bargs brings much experience to the team, is a great racer in the true sense, and shares the tenacity that is the very backbone of this team," he said. "Mark is young and very talented, no doubt about it. Now emerging from his 'Rookie period' in V8 Supercars, Mark has matured a lot and we have learnt much about each other that will allow us to create an environment which will see him come out in 2006 well and truly on the front foot. I cannot wait.

"Whilst there is always a very competitive rivalry between our drivers, which is healthy, Frosty and Bargs do get on particularly well. This is not always the case along pit lane and will prove beneficial with the process of setting and achieving common goals as part of a 'total team effort' to raise our performance and gain strong results."
