Several more VY Commodores will grid up at the opening round of the 2006 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series - the second tier of Australia's number one touring car championship.

Queensland-based Paul Morris Motorsports has licensed Racer Industries to distribute components and other technical upgrades supply conversion kits to 'Level Two' teams in order to upgrade their cars to VY specifications.

Comprising of double wishbone front suspension, cross members, steering racks, uprights, and hubs, the new conversion kits have already been purchased by four teams - Smiths Trucks Racing [for two cars], Sydney Star Racing, Scott Loadsman Racing and John Faulkner Racing.

"These kits allow teams to upgrade their existing VX Commodores and make them competitive without having to go to the expense of buying cars," said PMM owner-driver Paul Morris.

"Basically it's the full front end of the car, and there is plenty of interest because of the cost saving," added Morris.

The four teams will benefit greatly from the new packs - with data from Morris' 2003 VY-Commodore upgrade being reproduced through the new accessories. In addition, Morris will continue his association with fellow main-game outfit Team Kiwi Racing in 2006 - a move that could further benefit technical assistance to Fujitsu Series teams in the future.

"It's obvious from last year's championship results that we look after our partners and customers, and that's one reason why we're now getting plenty of interest in various manufacturing projects," said Morris.

Paul Morris Motorsports will contest the 2006 V8 Supercar Championship with two VZ Commodores following the purchase of a Level One Franchise from Team Dynamik last year. Both the V8 Supercar and Fujitsu Series' will be on track at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide in March.
