Greg Murphy's 2007 V8 Supercar is to be auctioned off in Auckland with part of the proceeds goings to Cystic Fibrosis.

The 635 horsepower Sprint Gas Racing V8 Supercar will be the centerpiece of the Cystic Fibrosis Charity Dinner and Auction to be held at Sky City on Saturday 31 May, with Murphy and Jason Richards being keynote speakers on the night.

The successful bidder will take ownership of the Sprint Gas Racing Commodore, complete with engine, six-speed Hollinger H-Pattern gear box and full V8 Supercar differential, suspension and brake systems. The new owner will also be flown to Melbourne where Greg Murphy will conduct a driving lesson.

"We are so excited about this amazing addition to our fundraising event." CF Association chief executive Kate Russell said. "This turns a big charity event into a huge one - tickets are selling fast all over Australasia."

Sprint Gas Racing is thrilled that part of the money raised will go to such an important cause and hopes the car will find a good home.

"If Sprint Gas Racing can assist in raising awareness and money to help those living with Cystic Fibrosis then we've doing something good," Murphy said. "I hope the night is a successful one, lots of money is raised for Cystic Fibrosis and the car finds a good home."

People who wish to bid for Greg Murphy's 2007 Sprint Gas Racing VE Holden need to register with the Cystic Fibrosis Association by contacting Kate Russell on 0011 64 3 341 8024 or kate@cfnz.org.nz.
