The reliability of the car is second to none, it has withstood anything I've asked of it this weekend and the team has just done a great job preparing it. I fared quite well in the reverse grid race, and it was just a matter of keeping the pressure on lap after lap and making the most of any passing opportunities, I think I made up over 25 places which was pretty good! Today's final race was just sensational and I had every confidence in the car, I kept pushing to maintain the gap and cruised on home. I only just learned of the championship gains I had made and I'm absolutely ecstatic, there is of course a long way to go but the buffer the team has helped me to build is really handy."

"I was feeling a bit rusty on Friday and felt like I'd forgotten most of the things I knew about V8 Supercars in my four month break. To come back and finish fourth and achieve a fastest lap for the weekend is much more than I expected. Channel Seven have been gracious enough, knowing how important motorsport is to me, and have given me the night off from It Takes Two. Hopefully Larry (Emder) will choke and die tonight (laughs)...only joking...Larry's a lovely bloke. But it's an unusual situation handing over the show that you've been there with from day dot... it's a similar feeling to handing your wife over to another man (laughs). I'm definitely happy, I understand I need to put more time into my motorsport and I believe that with Seven's support I can move further up the ranks, maybe into the level one series."

"After last round's disappointment we know things could have been a lot worse than they turned out here in Queensland and we'll just work on things before next round and remain positive. It's a game of margins and in hindsight the drive through penalty in race two proved costly. We were headed for a top 10 finish in that reverse grid race but instead were pushed right down the field and had to start further back. But we picked up a few spots and came home with a clean car so that's not a bad thing."

"I passed Sharpe into Turn 1, and then going into Turn 2 I was hit all of a sudden, I didn't see him in my mirrors and had no idea he was there, but it seems his left-front made contact with my right-rear corner, which sent me into the gravel trap and out of the race. It's just frustrating, I think we could've ended up inside the top 12. It was a long race, so I was playing it fairly conservatively in the early few laps; just taking our time. It was all about staying there and keeping out of trouble. We had picked up a couple of places already and it was looking good. I think we had good pace again, like we did this morning, and car was continuing to improve. We've shown that we had the pace this weekend. It didn't go our way, but what can you do."

David Clark [Optima Sport]

"After the disappointment of yesterday I was determined to make this morning's reverse grid race a successful one and was on track to achieve this goal before being given the drive through penalty. I'm very disappointed with the penalty I was given because I was alongside Howard for most of the main straight and on the inside entering the turn when he came down on me. I jumped on the brakes as hard as I could to avoid contact but I was that far in, I couldn't avoid the contact."

Colin Sieders [Sieders Racing Team]

"We've got the car fairly sorted now. Power is good, the handling is good, we are just losing too much time under brakes. We are only a second or so away from the leaders pace. The brake problems are just hurting us too much. It was good fun to be able to pass cars. I overtook a lot of other cars. It felt a bit like an Aussie Racing Car race!"
