2025 Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK: Friday Practice As It Happened

Live coverage of the Friday practice sessions from the Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK at Misano.

Round six of the 2025 World Superbike Championship brings us to the Emilia-Romagna WorldSBK at Misano, where FP2 is set to get underway at 15:00 local time.

This race weekend will be the first since the announcement of Toprak Razgatlioglu's move to MotoGP for 2026, and since Nicolo Bulega's confirmed renewal with Ducati for next year's World Superbike campaign.

The two come into the weekend with 31 points separating them in the championship, in Bulega's favour, after the Italian won Race 2 at Most last time out.

10:15

Van der Mark up to 12th with his latest lap, 1.121s off the pace of his teammate, and he completely blows turn one on the next lap.

10:08

Moment for Razgatlioglu at turn one. A bit of chatter in the final part of the entrance sees him lose the front, but he manages to save it.

10:06

Bautista now down to a 1:33.372, but Razgatlioglu now drops his own time to a 1:3.078 - he's 0.179s clear now after another improvement from Bulega to 1:33.257.

10:04

Bulega now down to a 1:33.260, 0.011s behind Razgatlioglu now.

10:04

Bulega was up after the third split on his last lap but he lost time in the final split. He improved by 0.001s over his previous lap.

PB there for Bautista, too, with a 1:33.406 to stay third.

10:01

Bulega down to a 1:33.281 with his latest lap and up to P2 with that.

09:59

Decent start for Gardner this morning, P4 and 0.420s off the pace. Next Yamaha is Locatelli in eighth and over 0.5s slower than Gardner.

09:55

Looks like Rea was able to ride his bike back to the pits after his technical problem earlier. Not sure exactly what it was, but it was forcing him to ride at a very reduced pace.

09:54

Most riders back in pit lane now. Still Razgatlioglu leading on a 1:33.249, Bautista second and 0.165s adrift.

09:50

Looks like a technical problem for Rea in the first split.

09:46

Bulega improves again to a 1:33.517 but he's quickly beaten by Razgatlioglu on a 1:33.249.

09:46

Bulega now back to the top on a 1:33.560.

09:44

Razgatlioglu now to the top on a 1:33.580.

09:43

Early crash for Bahattin Sofuoglu at turn one. He's up and okay.

09:42

The early pace was set by Remy Gardner but Bulega has now hit the top on a 1:33.967.

Race lap record is a 1:32.687 and all-time lap record is a 1:32.320, both set by Razgatlioglu last year.

09:36
FP1 begins

We have a green light in pit lane and FP1 is underway in Misano.

09:27

Bulega also has the pressure of a home race this weekend, not only for himself but also Ducati.

Both he and the Bologna brand are based much more closely to Misano than to Cremona, where the Italian Round was held in May.

Bulega was second in all three races at Misano last year in his rookie season.

Razgatlioglu did the treble on that occasion, but we've already seen this year that Razgatlioglu's performances at a track in 2024 aren't necessarily indicative of what he will be able to do in 2025  - Most was a prime example of that.

09:19

Nicolo Bulega comes into this weekend with a 31-point lead over Toprak Razgatlioglu in the riders' standings after an unexepcted win in Race 2 at Most.

Both Bulega and Razgatlioglu have confirmed their 2026 plans in recent days, with the former remaining in WorldSBK with Ducati and Razgatlioglu heading to MotoGP with Pramac Yamaha.
