2026 Brands Hatch BSB LIVE: Updates from the title decider

Live updates from the final round of the 2026 BSB season at Brands Hatch where the title could be decided today.

Live coverage from the 2026 Brands Hatch BSB finale where Race 1 could see the title decided today in favour of Kyle Ryde.

Key Moments

  • Redding moves to the front as the rain moves through
  • Cook leads as the rain flags come out
  • Ryde leads at the start as Redding drops back

Kyle Ryde comes into today with a chance to win the title. His job is made more difficult than expected today by his DNF in the final race at Donington two weeks ago, which opened the door for Scott Redding to win. Redding comes into Race 1 today 51 points adrift of Ryde, so it's still a long shot for the PBM Ducati rider to take his second BSB title this weekend even with 105 points available.

It was Redding and Ryde who were the men to beat at Brands Hatch back in July, with Ryde winning the first two races and Redding taking the Race 3 victory.

Ryde was the benchmark again in qualifying, taking pole position ahead of Max Cook and Ryan Vickers, while Redding will start down on the third row in seventh.

Permutations

It wasn't victory for Ryde today, but he definitely took a step closer to the title in Race 1. The mathematics are very much in his favour for Race 2 tomorrow.

48-point lead for Ryde going into Race 2. Redding needs to take 14 points out of him to keep it going to Race 3.

16:28

Actually it's Vickers P3 on the countback. I thought Haslam has passed on the previous lap but clearly mis-remembered. Chaotic end to that one.

16:27
Red flag, Redding wins

Red flag is out for the rain. Redding is the winner from Ryde and Haslam.

Championship will be decided tomorrow. Fantastic effort from Redding there.

16:26

Redding pulling away still at the front. Haslam up to third now past Vickers so it's an all-Ducati podium at the moment.

16:24

Ryde now passes Vickers for second. Front three have broken away again. Cook back to fifth as Haslam has moved up to fourth.

16:23

Redding now to the front as he passes Vickers at Clearways and we move onto lap 13. Absolute chaos right now.

16:22

Top-seven all together now as a front group as Ryde moves past Cook into Hawthorn.

16:22

Vickers leads now on lap 12. He passes Cook at Surtees.

16:21

It doesn't look to be raining that hard, but Ryde understandably cautious.

16:20
Ryde back to fourth

Ryde slips back to fourth as Vickers and Redding move through.

Haslam, Skinner, and Ray all queuing up behind as well. The rain has completely changed this race.

16:19
Cook leads

Cook goes from third to first in a couple of corners as Ryde and Vickers are seemingly spooked by the rain. Redding closing in from behind as well now, he's chewing time out of them.

16:17
Rain flags out

Redding now up to fifth as he passes Haslam at turn one beginning lap nine as the rain flags come out.

16:17

Redding now up to sixth passed Bradley Ray. Haslam and Skinner just ahead of him, so a possible fourth on the cards for Redding here.

16:16

Richard Kerr has crashed out at turn two, looks to be okay as he walks away.

16:14

Redding up to eighth now but the front three are getting further and further away.

16:13
Lap 5/20

Some progress for Redding in the last couple of laps - he's up to ninth. Still needs three more places to keep the title alive going into tomorrow.

16:09

Redding back to 11th now as Jackson passes him at turn three on the third lap.

16:09
Lap 2/20

Ryde leads by 0.2 seconds at the end of lap two over Vickers. Cook still in the front group as the front three are breaking away.

16:06

Not a good start for Redding, he's down to 10th in the opening corners.

16:06

Ryde quickly into the lead, he passes Vickers at turn two.

16:06
Race 1 start

It's lights out at Brands Hatch for Race 1.

Holeshot for Vickers, Ryde starts well and into second ahead of Cook and Skinner.

Some heavy clouds around at the moment, hard to say if they'll play a part.

16:03
Warm-up lap

Riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of Race 1.
