BSS: Centurion reveals '09 line-up.

Centurion Racing has announced that it will field two bikes in the 2009 British Supersport Championship for Dennis Hobbs and Daniel Cooper.

The team started the 2008 season running three bikes, for Hobbs, Copper and James Westmoreland, although Hobbs saw his campaign come to an early conclusion when he suffered shoulder injuries in a fall during the second round of the year at Thruxton.

Both Hobbs and Cooper will return the new season, although Westmoreland will take on a new challenge as he seeks to beat his old team to the Supersport crown.

"Although we had a number of offers from other riders for the third ride, we want to build on the relationship with Dennis and Dan and the success this team has experienced since we began racing just three years ago," team owner Paul Rees explained. "We now look forward to our extensive testing schedule abroad, and an exciting '09 season with new bikes and a renewed commitment from everyone involved in Centurion Racing to win."

Hobbs is now fully recovered from the injuries he sustained at Thruxton and is set to start the new season amongst the title favourites, while Cooper will go into 2009 having enjoyed a solid end to 2008 - including a front row start for the final round of the year at Brands Hatch.

"We're delighted with our '09 line up," Rees continued. "We have built a strong relationship with these two riders over the last season both personally and professionally, and they have shown 100 per cent team spirit throughout both on and off track. Despite serious injuries, Dennis has been around the paddock flying the Centurion flag and supporting the rest of the team from the wings. He is a serious contender for the Championship in '09.

"Although Daniel suffered one set-back after another beyond his control this year, he did so without complaint and came back hard and fast and showed us what he's truly made of towards the end of the season. We were delighted that he found his form in the last two races. We have high expectations of Dan finishing on the podium next year."

The team aims to try and secure success in BSS next year with an aim on moving to the world stage in 2010.
