Pre-season testing for the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship has finished with Jason O’Halloran leading a McAMS Yamaha one-two.

With fans in attendance, O’Halloran snatched top spot away from team-mate Tarran Mackenzie on his final flying lap of the day.

It’s been an ultra competitive and close 2021 pre-season with Donington Park seeing many of the same protagonists from previous tests showing their potential.

O’Halloran had been at the top of the times during the early stages of the final session ahead of Honda Racing’s Glenn Irwin - one of those to impress throughout testing, but with 20 minutes remaining Christian Iddon moved into second.

The final ten minutes of the test produced a flurry of improved lap times as Danny Kent, who had been quickest in the opening session for Buildbase Suzuki, went fastest with just over eight minutes remaining.

Then it was the turn of Mackenzie to shoot to the top before O’Halloran displaced him.

Third fastest was Kyle Ryde who continued his impressive pre-season run for Rich Energy OMG Racing BMW.

Irwin finished fourth fastest with Kent less than a tenth back in fifth. 2020 BSB champion Josh Brookes was the top Ducati in sixth position.

One spot back was team-mate Iddon who was marginally ahead of both Buildbase Suzuki rider Gino Rea and FS-3 Kawasaki’s Lee Jackson. Rounding out the top ten was the second BMW of Peter Hickman.

Riders will next be on-track for the season opener at Oulton Park on June 25-27 in what starts an 11 round season.
