2003 F1 calendar unveiled.
The World Motor Sport Council today [Wednesday] revealed the 2003 FIA Formula World Championship calendar. There are no major changes to the schedule, and there are only three things of note: 1. The British and French GP's switch back to their more traditional dates.

HANS made compulsory for 2003.
The World Motor Sport Council has today [Wednesday] declared that HANS (the 'Head and Neck Protection System') will be made compulsory in Formula 1 from the 1st January 2003. The FIA released the following statement:
Pain without gain for McNish.
The European Grand Prix produced little in the way of satisfaction for Allan McNish, despite the race taking place not far from his Toyota team's Cologne headquarters.
Davidson granted Jaguar test.
According to rumour in the Nurburgring paddock, Mark Webber is not the only promising youngster to be testing with Jaguar in the coming weeks.
Montoya beats Germans in Germany.
Juan Montoya did the unthinkable in qualifying at the Nurburgring and dared to beat, not only Mercedes-Benz, but also both Schumacher brothers to pole position for Sunday's European Grand Prix.

British Grand Prix organiser Octagon Motorsports has confirmed that it has had its $5 million bond returned by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile [FIA], following the successful completion of road improvements at Silverstone ahead of this year's Formula One meeting.
