RML adds three to technical team.

RML has strengthened its sportscar division with the appointment of three highly-rated technical personnel, including the arrival of former Jordan F1 designer Gary Anderson.

Anderson, who joins the team with Peter Elleray and Michael Jakeman, assumes the role of senior engineer and will oversee one of the team's Saleen S7Rs in the FIA GT Championship, as well as the Lola MG prototype for the Le Mans 24 Hours. Elleray will focus on developing the team's Lola-MG for Le Mans and the new LMES, whilst Jakeman will oversee the preparation and build of both cars.

All three men boast strong F1 backgrounds, with Anderson working with McLaren, Jordan and Stewart during his career. Between stints in the top flight, he spent time at Reynard, designing the F3000 chassis of 1989 and 1990, before being asked by Eddie Jordan to design the first Jordan Grand Prix car. Anderson also spent a year working in the US on Reynard's CART programme before returning to the UK to work alongside Jordan's new technical director Henri Durand in the last couple of years.

Elleray started his career at Arrows in 1984, before going on to join Lola's Indycar project. He then moved on to his first Le Mans car with Nissan in 1989, and went on to work with TOM'S - which now operates as RTN - where he remained until 2004. He began his work at TOM'S on the F3 team before moving onto the Toyota Le Mans project and then the Carina Touring Car programme. He later worked on the Audi R8C and most recently was chief designer for the Bentley Speed 8, which cumulated in the historic Bentley 1-2 finish at the 2003 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Jakeman too has a strong F1 background, having worked for Williams, Benetton and Jaguar Racing. He spent nine years at Williams before moving to Benetton, where he became Michael Schumacher's gearbox technician during his championship victories of 1994 and 1995. After six years, he moved to Jaguar Racing, where he became car build manager.
