Danny Blakeley leads the points standings in the AMCA class after taking victory at Sheffield on his Dale Wood & Co Yamaha. Jim Murro, Prince's CAS Honda team-mate, heads the points in the Youth 125cc class after taking top honours in South Yorkshire. Chad Yarrington leads the Big Wheel 85cc class on the Cradley Kawasaki, James Dodd (Honda) tops the Small Wheel 85cc standings and Luke Remmer the 65cc class after winning at Sheffield on KTM.

All of those class winners from Sheffield will look to hang onto their advantage at Birmingham where the track layout will be of similar design. Future West have decided to stick with a four lane track layout after that type of design provided exciting racing at Sheffield. Future West have also listened to fans who have asked for lower ticket prices.

"One area fans have asked us to look at is the price of tickets and we have responded by brining it down to ?19.50 at the NEC," said Future West's John Hellam.

An innovation for the NEC round is that a number of riders, including some of those from the pro classes, will have their pit areas in front of the stands. This will allow fans better access to riders, giving them the chance to talk to competitors and get autographs.

Future West, who flew Mike Metzger in to Sheffield to perform his backflip, are also in talks to bring another freestyle first to Britain.

"Talks are ongoing and we hope to once again bring something new to Britain for the freestyle part of the show," added Hellam.
