Rossi takes record-breaking victory at Mugello.
After falling almost one race win behind MotoGP World Championship leader Casey Stoner, Valentino Rossi turned the tide with a record-breaking home victory at Mugello on Sunday.
Rossi had taken only one win from the first five rounds of 2007, leaving him 21 points behind Ducati's Casey Stoner - who started the Italian Grand Prix from pole position - but Rossi overcame all obstacles on Sunday, including a bad start and a top speed deficit, to become the first rider in the history of the sport to take six consecutive wins at his home circuit.
