Leading oil company Caltex Australia and Australia's market leader in fluid transfer solution products and services, Pirtek, have formed a partnership on and off the race track.

Both companies are individual sponsors of Stone Brothers Racing - the leading team in the V8 Supercar Championship Series with Marcos Ambrose driving the Pirtek Ford and Russell Ingall campaigning in the Caltex Havoline Ford.

Today it was announced that Ambrose and Ingall will drive together at both the Betta Electrical Sandown 500 (12-14 September) and the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at Bathurst (9-12 October) in a specially designed BA Falcon carrying sponsorship from both companies.

Caltex and Pirtek have also announced a long-term business partnership which will see Caltex lubricants used by the national network of Pirtek Service and Supply Centres. Caltex lubricants supplied to Pirtek will also be co-branded.

Under the agreement Caltex will also service the fuel requirements of Pirtek's expansive network.

Caltex's National Manager Lubricants and Specialty Products Gavin Tory said the new agreement provides so many great opportunities.

"There is a lot of alignment between our businesses and our customer bases and that should provide mutual opportunities for both parties," said Mr Tory. "Caltex highly values good partnerships. We are very excited to be partnering with Pirtek on and off the race track."

Pirtek General Manager Glenn Duncan said the extensive partnership with Caltex will play a vital role in the company's future.

"We had been with a previous supplier for many years but we believe that Caltex is the company we need to be aligned with as we move forward," Mr Duncan said. "Caltex has a strong industrial base and that is where we see many of our future customers.

"It was important for us to form a partnership with a well structured entity like Caltex and the other major benefit is that we can team-up our two great drivers Marcos Ambrose and Russell Ingall in the same car at the endurance events. Like those races, this partnership is about quality and endurance."

In the meantime the Pirtek Ford and Caltex Havoline Ford will go head-to-head this weekend in the eighth round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series at Sydney's Oran Park.

Havoline Premium is the "off the shelf" engine oil used in Stone Brothers Racing Ford V8 Supercars driven by Russell Ingall and Marcos Ambrose.
