Clipsal 500- race two update: 50 laps

At lap fifty, Marcos Ambrose appears to have won the 78 km race two of the Clipsal 500.

The Holden of Steven Richards came in for its second pit stop on lap 35, as Craig Lowndes' stricken Falcon was wheeled into the garage for the last time.

Race leader Marcos Ambrose's car stopped for fuel on lap forty. Steven Richards found himself in the lead, setting fast laps in a hope that when he emerged from his final pit stop that he would be ahead of Marcos Ambrose.

Lap fifty, and when Richards pitted for fuel, Ambrose was well past him before the Castrol Commodore emerged from pit lane. Simon Wills and Paul Morris retired, as did the falcon of Max Wilson, with an apparent engine failure.
