Stone Brothers Racing has re-signed an agreement with major partner Robert Bosch Australia for the next two seasons of V8 Supercar competition.

The official contract was signed in front of 5000 Bosch employees and their families at a special 50th anniversary celebration at Bosch's head office at Clayton in Melbourne.

Bosch joined the SBR organisation at the beginning of 2003 and was rewarded instantly when Russell Ingall took honours in the opening races of the year in his Caltex Falcon at the Foster's Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Then ten months later Marcos Ambrose clinched SBR's first V8 Supercar Championship in his Pirtek Falcon and this week he gets the chance to make it back-to-back titles at Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney.

There was also a win in the Konica V8 Supercar Championship Series last year with young star Mark Winterbottom, who moved from SBR to Orrcon Racing in the main V8 series this season, but who continues to have a personal relationship with Bosch.

Ingall and Winterbottom were both present at the signing where the new contract was sealed with signatures from SBR co-owner Ross Stone and Bosch divisional manager automotive, Gary Burns.

"There is no doubt that we have enjoyed two fantastic years as a major partner with Stone Brothers Racing," Burns said. "Ross and Jimmy Stone have made us feel a part of the whole operation and Marcos and Russell have turned all the team's hard work into results out on the track.

"Just like SBR, Bosch is a focused, innovative and respected leader in its field and we look forward to the next couple of years and beyond. We are proud of the fact the SBR have won races and championships using "off the shelf" products in their race cars, such as Bosch Spark Plugs and we look forward to continuing our successful branding and marketing programs with the team.

"V8 Supercar racing continues to go from strength to strength and it's great to see SBR cars greeting the chequered flag first with Bosch Spark Plugs blazoned across the front bumper."

Ross Stone is delighted to continue his team's association with Bosch which is a valuable compliment to SBR's other major partnerships with Ford, Pirtek and Caltex.

"Bosch is such a fantastic innovative company and certainly adds to the list of solid support we have from other corporations like Ford, Caltex and Pirtek," he said. "There is no doubt that Bosch joined us at the right time and hopefully we can enjoy a lot more success together in the future.

"The way that Bosch and its employees and staff have taken ownership of this program is what racing and sponsorship is all about. Hopefully we can make it two out of two for Bosch and our other sponsors at Eastern Creek next week."
