Glenn Seton has grabbed the chance to test ahead of schedule with his 2005 employer Dick Johnson Racing, and reported that the outing was positive for all concerned.

Having been released by current team Ford Performance Racing for the test, Seton completed more than 100 laps at Queensland Raceway, despite running in sweltering conditions.

"The test was good, a very positive experience," the veteran said, "It was great to get to know the team, they all work together really well and they know what they want to do and where they want to go. I was very impressed with [engineer] Dave Stuart - he's a fantastic operator - and I'm looking forward to being a part of DJR. It's an exciting team to be associated with."

DJR team chief Dean Orr said that the decision to include Seton in the final test of the year was a worthwhile one.

"It was quite a positive day," Orr said, "We had a lot to do and got through it all easily. The aim was for Glenn to feel comfortable in the Ford and for him to get to know the team, which we achieved. He spent a few hours adjusting the car, making changes so that it was too his liking, which also helps us going into the off-season. He fitted in well with the entire team and made a very good contribution."

Seton returns to his more familiar FPR cockpit for the final time at Eastern Creek this weekend, where the team will be looking to bow out of a disappointing 2004 campaign with a solid result. Both Seton and 2004 team-mate Craig Lowndes will be on the moves in the off-season, with younger former champion already confirmed at Triple Eight-run Team Betta Electrical.
