Easton goes Green.

Stuart Easton has signed up with the MSS Discovery Kawasaki team to contest the British Supersport Championship along side team-mate Kieran Murphy.

The young Scott had a tough time on track this year following a move from the Lloyd's British Ducati team to the SC Carrachi Ducati World Supersport squad. Although he managed to pull in some decent results at World level it didn't all go according to plan and at the end of the year Easton was looking for a ride for 2007.

He looked to have secured a seat in Gary Ekerold's team to run in British Supersport, but that took a change of direction when the team opted to go World Supersport instead, leaving Easton only a matter of weeks to pull in further sponsorship.

Speaking to Crash.net Easton said, "It was looking like too much of a gamble and I really need a good year to get myself back on track. The Kawasaki deal was concrete and a good package; I should be a contender for the British Championship."

The availability of the Kawasaki ride was mentioned while Easton was competing in the Macau GP, however at that point he was still committed to the Ekerold ride. "Things changed when I got back from Macau, and it left me to look else where," explained Easton, "Now that the deal is done I'm looking forward to it. We are going to test soon in the UK, just for a shake down and then we are off to Valencia early February."

Easton has raced on V-twins for the bulk of his career and prior to that he was running on two strokes, but the fact that he will be on an in-line four isn't bothering him, "The only race I have done on a four was the Stobart Superbike in Macau. I jumped on that bike and took no risks, I worked my way forward from ninth to sixth and finally to fourth and it all felt pretty normal. It's a bike, as long as it has two wheels and an engine I'll be fine!" he joked.
