McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown speaking to Sky Sports F1 on the clash between his drivers.
"They have driven brilliantly all season. You can't win the constructors' without two awesome racing drivers," Brown said.
"As you can see, we are letting them race. That was a bit more of a nail-biter there, but they race hard, they race clean, they race to win.
"A lot of racing to go and hopefully a lot more victories for both of them."
"It feels amazing, especially after what happened a couple of years ago. That was a bit of a missed opportunity, but we more than made up for it today," Russell said.
“Just so grateful for the team. They did an amazing job this weekend. We don’t really know where this performance came from, but really, really happy.
“Friday was a really tough day for me for many different reasons and I wasn’t feeling comfortable, but by the time I got to Q3, I felt great in the car and that’s when it matters.
“I was a bit nervous at the beginning when I saw Max on the soft, but that first stint was great from us and extended the gap."

Lewis Hamilton is under investigation for repeated track limits offences.
The seven-time world champion was seen running wide in the final laps as he struggled to keep his car on track as he battled late brake trouble.
This typically results in a five-second time penalty, which would drop Hamilton behind Fernando Alonso.
Kimi Antonelli comes home fifth ahead of the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who just pips Fernando Alonso after crawling home with a late brake problem.
Alonso has to settle with eighth, as Oliver Bearman and Carlos Sainz secure the final points on offer in ninth and 10th.
With Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finishing third and fourth, McLaren have become back-to-back constructors' world champions.
George Russell wins the Singapore Grand Prix!
What a drive and what a victory for Russell.
Max Verstappen takes second, holding off Lando Norris's McLaren.
Lewis Hamilton has fallen to seventh behind Charles Leclerc after reporting his front brakes have gone. He is nursing his Ferrari home.
Lap 62: George Russell begins the final lap.
Max Verstappen remains second, less than a second clear of Lando Norris, with Oscar Piastri a couple of seconds further back.
Lap 60/62: Hamilton's chance might have just gone. He's gone deep at Turn 16 and drops two seconds behind Kimi Antonelli.
Lap 59/62: Lewis Hamilton is within DRS range of Kimi Antonelli heading into the final few laps. Can he grab fifth place?
Lap 56/62: Charles Leclerc moves out of the way to release Lewis Hamilton into P6 on the start-finish straight.
Hamilton is now 2.8s behind Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli with seven laps left to run.
Lap 55/62: Oscar Piastri, who has had a very frustrating evening, is now catching Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.
Piastri was 10 seconds behind Norris after his pit stop. It's now just 3s.
Lap 54/62: Kimi Antonelli has just overtaken Charles Leclerc for fifth place.
Hamilton now has his Ferrari teammate ahead of him and is much faster than both Antonelli and Leclerc.
Remember what happened in Baku between the Ferrari pair. Will Ferrari be asking Leclerc to give way to Hamilton again?
10 laps to go in Singapore and George Russell continues to lead the way out front as he closes in on a first win at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Lap 51/62: Lewis Hamilton is absolutely flying on soft tyres. He's just set the fastest lap of the race and has cut the gap to Kimi Antonelli down to 13.3s. It was over 20 when he made his second stop.
If Hamilton can keep this pace up, he will be on the back of Antonelli's Mercedes by the end of the race.
Lap 49/62: Lando Norris has been hustling and harrying the back of Max Verstappen's car but so far, cannot get close enough to make a move as he continues to run in DRS range.
Lap 47/62: Lewis Hamilton has made a second pit stop to put some soft tyres on for the final stint. He's still seventh so had nothing to lose there.
Lap 46/62: Max Verstappen is losing heaps of time as he continues to battle car issues.
Lando Norris is now within DRS range of the Red Bull driver.
"I'm struggling a lot now," Verstappen complains over team radio.
Lap 45/62: Nico Hulkenberg has gone for a spin in his Sauber but manages to avoid the barriers.
Lap 45/62: Just five seconds covers the top three as the leaders deal with traffic
Lap 42/62: Now it's Lando Norris's turn to make a mistake as he runs wide in the final sector and has a scruffy lap.
Norris loses a full second to Verstappen and his recent hard work to close the gap is undone.
Lap 41/62: Lando Norris is starting to close in on Max Verstappen as the Red Bull driver continues to struggle. The gap is just 1.5s as things stand.
Lap 39/62: Max Verstappen has had another off-track excursion, this time down at Turn 2.
He is not happy with his Red Bull at the minute.
"The rear is like a handbrake, please help," he asks.
