Headline act announced for 2011 Grand Prix Ball!

Organisers have confirmed that they have secured exciting X-Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson to headline the glamorous 2011 Grand Prix Ball in aid of the UK's leading children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent

Organisers of the glamorous annual Grand Prix Ball have pulled off a coup ahead of the 2011 pre-British Grand Prix extravaganza by lining up former X-Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson to headline the event - one that is set to bring together the great and the good from the grand prix grid and the celebrity world.

Liverpool-born Rebecca enchanted the public and received standing ovations for her soulful timbre throughout the last season of X Factor, with Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger - McLaren-Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend - proclaiming her as 'our generation's songbird' as she sang her way to the runner-up position.

The 24-year-old will release her eagerly-anticipated debut album later this year, and Grand Prix Ball organiser and GP Management CEO Jonny Dodge enthused: "This is a fantastic opportunity to see Rebecca perform at an intimate event...we are extremely excited about this year's line-up."

Fellow performers confirmed for the 7 July soir?e at London's prestigious Hurlingham Club on the banks of the River Thames - in aid of the UK's leading children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent - will be BBC F1 pundit and former team owner Eddie Jordan and his band The Robbers. The colourful Irishman will similarly compere the evening - admitting last year that 'I've been to a lot of events at the Hurlingham and I've never see it look as good' - with Rick Parfitt Jnr on DJ duties.

As well as live performances, other entertainment will include a special display of F1 cars featuring a 2011 Force India and a variety of Lotus-Renault models, right through to the 1996 Williams-Renault of Damon Hill. Guests will include the biggest names in the industry as well as many other high-profile celebrities. The red carpet was adorned last year by the likes of Jade Ewen, Beverley Knight, Nancy Dell'Olio, Elen Rives, Liz McClarnon, Blake, Rick Yune, Karen Hardy, Michelle Collins and Nat Weller.

The hundreds of expected guests will be treated to a champagne reception on the stunning lawns of The Hurlingham, followed by a sumptuous three-course meal. They will also be provided with the opportunity to bid in a charity auction, the proceeds of which will go to CLIC Sargent.

Last year, a staggering ?43,000 was raised, with the target to exceed that total twelve months on. Every day, ten families are told their child has cancer, and CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all-round care and support, from providing specialist nurses to social care and helping survivors and the bereaved.
