Bar Set For Very Public Debut.

The nascent British American Racing team will unveil its first grand prix car at the Autosport International Show next January - and will immediately run it in public.

The Brackley-based team hopes to debut the car in the Live Action Arena section of the show at the NEC, Birmingham, in front of at least 35,000 people. The decision is in keeping with BAR's desire to bring both itself and F1 closer to the public.

(Autosport International is the best racing car show in the world,) said team boss Craig Pollock, (It matches our own philosophy of taking F1 to the people.)

(The Live Action show is the ideal launch platform for BAR,) Pollock continued, (and will give the public an opportunity to see F1's newest car in the flesh.)

The team's first test session is scheduled for 18 September at Santa Pod, and will see a Tyrrell chassis run with a Mecachrome engine for the first time.
