Schumacher Tests On Rest Day.

Michael Schumacher and Ferrari took the opportunity to test at Fiorano when the Monaco Grand Prix weekend took its traditional Friday break.


The German returned to Ferrari's home circuit to shake down the fourth chassis destined for use in the Principality, effectively giving both drivers two cars for the rest of the weekend. Schumacher completed a minimum 15 laps in the car, recording a best time of 1min 01.895secs, before flying back to Monaco to resume race activities on Saturday.

Ironically, his second car was pressed into action almost immediately, as Schumacher crashed heavily during the Saturday morning free session, and had to qualify in the spare car. He eventually finished the day second on the grid, having gone faster in the replacement than he had in the original.
