Magny-Cours test - 25-27 September.

Two ends of the Formula One spectrum met in testing at Magny-Cours this week, as Prost and McLaren made use of the French venue prior to the Japanese Grand Prix next weekend.

Although no official times were released for the three-day session, it was understood that McLaren test driver Olivier Panis once again proved to be the fastest runner on each day. Prost ran its own test driver, Stephane Sarrazin, throughout its three days at the circuit, and was pleased with the progress it made, not only towards Japan, but also for the 2001 campaign.

"This test has allowed us to gather a good deal of information for next season's development programme," confirmed sporting director John Walton, "Stephane did a good job and his very accurate feedback helped us to advance throughout the session."

The former F3000 race winner completed 147 laps during his three days aboard the AP03, recording a best time of 1min 17.672secs in the process of working through a programme of chassis changes.
