Ferrari on the pitch with three centre forwards.

A special event looms for Scuderia Ferrari. This time however, it has nothing to do with preparations for a grand prix.

Instead, the drivers, engineers and mechanics are going through some last minute training to be in top condition for this coming Sunday, 16th December. On that day, they will run out onto the pitch at the Braglia di Modena stadium for the "Partita della Passione," a three way soccer tournament, which sees the Scuderia go up against a Nazionale Piloti team and a Nazionale Cantanti squad.

Of the twenty two players put forward by the selector, Jean Todt, the star attraction will be the world championship winning team's three attacking forwards, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Luca Badoer.

Guarding the goal will F1 Sporting Director, Stefano Domenicali. Featuring in the initial eleven man line-up should be defenders, Giovanni Casu, Francesco Uguzzoni, Pietro Timpini and Massimo Ronchetti and forwards, Diego Tavani, Luca Baldissierri and, the only "guest" in the Scuderia line-up, Matteo Montezemolo.

On the subs bench, ready to come on, will be Bruno Ferri, Francesco Barletta, Raniero Giannotti, Giacomo Debbia, Giuseppe Valpreda, Mattia Binotto, Alessandro Ferrari and Marco Belli.

The three-way tournament kicks off at 14.30 (local time): the first match will be Ferrari versus the Nazionale Piloti. The losers will then play the Nazionale Cantanti, who will round off the event, playing the winners of the first game.

Each match will last 35 minutes. If the score is a draw at full time, then there will be a series of three penalty shoot-outs. The rules provide for a score of three points for a win in normal time, two points for a win after penalties, one for losers after penalties and none for losers in normal time.
