Flavio Briatore, MD of the Renault F1 team in the UK and manager to its two drivers, as well as having other interests, is now taking on another role with the announcement that he will be MD of the French arm of the Renault F1 effort.

Patrick Faure, Executive Vice President of Renault and Chairman of the Renault F1 Team, has decided to modify the team's organization in order to address more effectively the challenges of the 2003 Formula 1 World Championship, and this means more power to Briatore.

Briatore's role was Managing Director of the Renault F1 Team UK in Enstone and now he is Managing Director of Renault F1 Team France in Viry-Ch?tillon as well.

According to the team's press release, "the overall management of the Enstone and Viry-Ch?tillon units under the responsibility of Flavio Briatore will increase synergies within the team and relieve Jean-Jacques His of the management and logistic tasks involved in his current assignment."

Jean-Jacques His meanwhile is appointed Director of Development for Renault F1 Team France, with his new duties allowing him to devote himself exclusively to engine design and development.
