In the absence of a Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend, you can vote for the best-ever Formula 1 race to be held at Sakhir.

The Bahrain Grand Prix was due to be held today (March 22) but the race was postponed amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic amid the huge disruption caused to the start of the 2020 F1 season.

Including Bahrain, Australia, China and the inaugural Vietnam Grand Prix have also become casualties of the coronavirus outbreak with the opening four rounds of the season shelved.

With no racing taking place this weekend, we have selected four classic races from Bahrain for you to pick from as the standout grand prix to take place in the Gulf State.

Here’s a brief recap of each option….

2006 Bahrain Grand Prix

The 2006 season began with a thrilling race in Bahrain as Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher battled all the way to the flag for victory.

After narrowly avoiding being taken out by a spinning Felipe Massa, Alonso snatched the lead following the second round of pit stops after muscling past Schumacher into Turn 1 as he exited the pits, before holding off the German in a tense finale.

2014 Bahrain Grand Prix

Bahrain switched to a night race for the first time in 2014 and fans were treated to what remains as being one of the best races of the V6 hybrid era and of recent times.

Mercedes teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg squabbled for the win throughout with some nail-biting wheel-to-wheel combat, with the former ultimately prevailing having fended off multiple attacks from Rosberg despite being on harder tyres.

2018 Bahrain Grand Prix

An action-packed race had drama from start to finish as Sebastian Vettel claimed a brilliant victory for Ferrari to continue a great start to the season for the Scuderia.

Lewis Hamilton made a triple overtake on a recovery drive to the podium after starting ninth on the grid, while Valtteri Bottas was unable to find a way past Vettel in the closing stages despite being on tyres that were in much better shape.

2019 Bahrain Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel was looking to make it three wins in a row in Bahrain but after losing his early lead to Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc, the German spun while battling with Lewis Hamilton and dropped out of contention.

Leclerc was set to claim a deserved maiden grand prix victory until late engine drama cruelly robbed him of the win, leaving Hamilton and Mercedes to take full advantage and pick up the pieces.

In your opinion, which Bahrain Grand Prix was the best to have been held since it joined the F1 calendar in 2004?
