GP2 Spain 2013: Sprint race results

Results from the sprint race at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, which saw a flying start from Stefano Coletti and another strong outing for Robin Frijns.

Rapax driver Stefano Coletti launched himself off the sprint race grid and into a first corner battle with polesitter Johnny Cecotto Jr., and once he emerged victorious from that heated scrap he was good to go right to the chequered flag, extending his lead in the GP2 championship to a massive 17pts.

Saturday feature race Robin Frijns also had an electric start to the race in the Hilmer, and he and Carlin's Felipe Nasr soon found their way past Cecotto to get their second podiums of the weekend.

Cecotto himself faces investigation for some desperate blocking in the latter stages of the race, which saw him retaking a position from Alexander Rossi by overshooting the turn 1 run off and banging wheels with Rossi's Caterham team mate Sergio Canamasas, which contributed to Canamasas being rear-ended and losing his rear wing for the second time this weekend
