Audi will be fielding a seconf R10 TDi machines with the two Germans Frank Biela, and Marco Werner alongside Italian Emanuele Pirro.

The test will be the only chance competitors in the race, which takes place on the 17th and 19th June, get a chance to test on the circuit and Scottish veteran of endurance racing McNish sees the test as vital to any Audi success at Le Mans.

"It will be the first time we have been to La Sarthe with the R10 TDI and also the last chance we will have to understand a little more about our new prototype as well as getting our first feelings of what it's like on this very special circuit," confirmed McNish.

"It is important that all six drivers in both cars complete as many laps as possible to get to grips with this daunting track," added McNish, "and also the specifics of driving diesel power as there is not much time in the actual race week."

"It is the first time we will be on track at Le Mans with our opposition and knowing their speed from last year's 24 hours and also the Le Mans Endurance Series, I will be keen to know how we compare. What I am certain of is that we will have a very hard battle on our hands."
