Dutchman Remy van Rees will miss the Grand Prix of Spain after crashing during a final practice session before travelling to Bellpuig.

The KTM rider made a small mistake while testing at the Amsterdam circuit in his homeland and went down, hitting his upper leg very hard with his handlebars. This resulted in a cut which he was advised was too deep to stitch.

van Rees will now rest the injury for a week before returning to hospital where he will learn if he will be able race at the second Dutch Open Motocross at Halle on 21 April.
