A Fundraising Gala Evening in aid of Laurie Squirrel is to be held on Friday 4th March 2005, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre.
16-year-old Laurie from Stowmarket near Ipswich was the U.K.'s top female Motocross rider, who tragically broke her back at the USA Ladies National Championships in December 2004 and is now paralysed from the chest down.

The aim of this evening is to raise sufficient funds to help Laurie and her family cope with the financial costs of trying to carry on with as normal life as possible, such as converting their home so Laurie can get about more freely and have a better quality of home life.
It is hoped the event will have the backing of several Celebrities and Sports personalities who are pledging their support to the evening. In addition an Auction is to be held during the evening which will include items such as a 'Trip to Las Vegas' (the last round of the Supercross Championship) amongst many others.

The evening will consist of the following:
19.00 - 20.00 Pre-Dinner drinks/Cash Bar Pavilion Room
20.00 - 21.30 Dinner Westminster Suite
22.00 - 23.00 Auction Westminster Suite
23.00 - 01.00 Dancing Westminster Suite
01.00 Close
A glass of sparkling wine will be served on arrival and a table wine/drink pre-order form is enclosed which can be sent direct to Hotel. A cash bar will also be available.
Rooms will be available by booking direct with the Hotel, at a discounted rate of ?115 + vat per double room.
The Hotel, like most others, does charge for parking and guests can pay by cash or credit cards.
The cost of tickets for the Gala Evening will be ?130.00 per person or ?1300 per table.
