"At Dallas, both riders engaged in actions that are detrimental to the sport of motorcycle racing," said Whitelock in announcing the penalties. "An on-track incident spilled over to additional altercations off of the track and that is completely unacceptable."
The pair first collided on track at the Daytona Supercross, when factory KTM rider Hansen felled them both while they were battling for victory on the last lap of the event which he would go on to win.
They then tangled during the heat race at Dallas, with Honda rider Grant appearing to take them both down. A minor physical altercation is then alleged to have occurred between them some hours after the event had finished.
Both riders were made aware of their penalties on Friday morning in a meeting at the Pontiac Supercross.
