KTM confirms Rattray, de Reuver for 2006.

KTM have announced that Marc de Reuver and Tyla Rattray will form part of their 2006 attack on the MX1 and MX2 Motocross World Championships.

22-year-old De Reuver has signed a new one-year deal with the factory and will move from the MX2 category at the end of '05 to guide a 450SXF in the premier MX1 class.

"I have been struggling for three-years to get the title in MX2 with a lot of bad luck and some things were my own fault," the Dutchman commented. "MX1 will be a new challenge and I think I can do well on a big bike; we will see."

19-year-old Rattray has inked a fresh two season contract and is committed to the competition in which he started as title favourite this term until his unfortunate knee ligament injury, from which he is hoping to return at either the Grand Prix of England or the Dutch round at Lierop in early September.

"I have decided to stay in MX2 because I am still young and there is time for me to move to MX1 or go to America in 2007," remarked the South African. "KTM have a good bike in MX2 and I know I can with the world title with the 250. KTM gave me the best contract out there and I really like the way they work; they make me feel like part of the family. I am happy to have signed and to be with them for the next two years."

"The plan is to have three riders in MX1 and three in MX2," revealed team manager Toby Gustafson. "We have two already in Tyla and Marc and we are also talking with David Philippaerts, with is quite logical given his results, but nothing is signed and done at this precise moment."
