Reed to support friends at Sydney Supercross.

AMA star Chad Reed will attend the third round of the Nokia Supercross Masters, in his native Australia this Saturday, as a special guest of his former race team.

Reed, who is currently holidaying in Australia after being injured during the AMA Motocross season, will take time out from his break to support good friends Craig Dack and Cheyne Boyd of CDR/Nokia/Yamaha at the Sydney Superdome.

With overseas racing commitments pitting the friends on opposite sides of the globe, Reed said this weekend would provide a good opportunity for a reunion.

"I was coming home for a short break anyway so it was great that it coincided with a round of the Supercross Masters," Reed said. "I've got a lot of good friends at the Craig Dack Racing team so its going to be a really cool weekend for me and to be honest it feels like we are getting the old band back together.

"I rode for Craig and CDR in 2000, here in Australia, then teamed up with Craig again in America at Team Yamaha of Troy where he was team manager and I rode in the 125cc class (lower pic).

"Cheyne Boyd is also one of my best friends and it's awesome to be able to cheer him on this weekend. Cheyne definitely has the speed and hopefully I can give him enough moral support to help him take the Pro Open win on Saturday night," Reed added.

"As a team we are also very fortunate to have Chad Reed with us this weekend, his presence around the team will definitely give the guys some added confidence," declared Dack. "Chad and I have been friends for many years and always catch up whenever our busy schedules allow.

"One of my finest moments in this sport was working with Chad in the US when I was team manager at Team Yamaha of Troy, watching him win his first AMA round and then go on to win the AMA 125cc Supercross title," he added.

And adding to the weekend excitement for Dack is the recent news that they have signed seventeen-year old Matt Moss for the next two seasons.

"It has been a long time since I have seen talent like this," said Dack. "His enthusiasm and dedication are beyond his years and has spread through the team like a breath of fresh air."

Moss has stunned the Australian Supercross world by consistently finishing on the podium and ahead of many of the Series favourites, having recently been elevated straight from juniors into the Pro Open class.

"It has always been a dream of mine to race for the Craig Dack Racing Team," Moss said. "Watching Chad and where he has gone since riding with CDR gave me no hesitation in signing on the dotted line as soon as the offer was made. Having Chad with us this weekend is such a bonus it is advice that money can't buy."

Moss is currently second in the championship and only four points behind Series leader Daryl Hurley.
