Yamaha USA has announced its support for the newly formed L&M Racing team, poised to contest the 2007-2008 AMA Supercross series.

Former AMA Supercross champion and current factory Yamaha star Chad Reed, plus former AMA West Coast 'Lites' champion Nathan Ramsey, will race under the new L&M tent aboard YZ450Fs next season.

L&M Racing was founded in June of 2006 by Larry Brooks, most recently team manager for Red Bull KTM, and Mike Kranyak. Although also no stranger to racing, Kranyak is the 'silent partner' and will rely on Brooks to control the focus of their racing effort.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to get back together with Yamaha. Knowing their dedication to winning, both efforts (L&M and Factory Yamaha) will do what it takes to win," said Brooks, who has worked with many great riders over his eleven years as a team manager, during which he has helped to win four AMA Supercross championships.

"We have the utmost confidence in Larry Brooks, Reed and Ramsey and feel this team will further promote the Yamaha brand," added Yamaha Racing Division manager Keith McCarty. "It's another step in the right direction for motocross and we are confident L&M Racing will attract additional outside sponsors that, in turn, will create more interest and visibility for our sport."

The L&M Racing Team will concentrate on the AMA and World Supercross Championships and additional stadium races during the 2007 and 2008 series - meaning that they are unlikely to compete in the AMA Motocross championships.
