Carmichael, the greatest AMA Supercross/Motocross rider of all time, is riding in only the first five rounds of the 2007 season before concentrating fluky on a new stock car career - but his dedication and speed continues unabated and he won both motos on Sunday en route to the overall.

"This one is special, especially racing James like this," said Carmichael. "I like this place and I love the dirt here. The track was a little on the difficult side. It was tough to pass and tough to change lines. The fans here have been very good to me."

Stewart led the first half of the first moto but couldn't match Carmichael's speed in a runaway second moto. Honda's Davi Millsaps was third with a 4-3 finish.

In the AMA Motocross Lites class, Honda's Josh Grant stopped the Kawasaki freight train of reigning champion Ryan Villopoto and round one winner Ben Townley. Townley was involved in a startline clash that forced a wheel change in race one, leaving the kiwi just tenth at the flag, while Grant took victory ahead of Villopoto. BT then bounced back with a convincing moto two triumph, with Villopoto second and Grant third - handing Josh the overall. Villopoto now leads the standings by eight points over Townley.

The AMA Toyota Motocross Championship, presented by FMF, will take a one-week break before heading north to Massachusetts on June 9-10 for the Mototees Southwick National, presented by Scott USA.
