Acosta, like Aldeguer, picked up a long lap late on.

Aldeguer took his and crossed the line eighth, but he gets promoted to seventh afterwards because Acosta didn't take his and gets an equivalent time penalty post-race. Acosta classified in ninth now.

Marc Marquez wins the Dutch MotoGP Sprint

It's victory once more for Marc Marquez in the MotoGP Sprint at Assen.

Alex Marquez takes second, Bezzecchi keeps third ahead of Di Giannantonio.

Bagnaia rounds out the top-five ahead of Vinales.

14:21
Lap 12/13

Marc Marquez leads onto the final lap. Alex Marquez still right there, and Bezzecchi not totally out of it, either.

Fermin Aldeguer picked up a long lap penalty that time around for track limits.

14:20
Lap 11/13

Only a couple of tenths between the leaders still. Bezzecchi still there as well.

Alex's problem is that, while he's fast in the fast rights, Marc is better in Ramshoek which is keeping him some gap into the final chicane.

14:18
Quartararo out

Quartararo down at turn 10 on lap 10. He was able to walk away.

That's relieved some pressure on Bezzecchi for third, but Di Giannantonio is still right there.

14:15
Lap 8/13

Front two now affirmatively escaping from Bezzecchi. 0.6s between Alex Marquez and Bezzecchi over the line that time.

Quartararo and Di Giannantonio piling the pressure on the Aprilia rider for the final podium spot.

14:14
Lap 7/13

Alex Marquez and Bezzecchi have both picked up track limits warnings. Bezzecchi now under pressure from Quartararo.

14:12

Vinales not far behind Bagnaia, either. Could still get worse yet for the factory Ducati rider.

14:12
Lap 6/13

No change at the front that time, but further back in the front group Di Giannantonio has passed Bagnaia for fifth.

14:10
Lap 5/13

Alex Marquez is so much faster than Marc through the fast rights, but he just can't find a way through at the moment.

Bezzecchi closed back in that lap. He's only a couple of tenths off the Marquezes.

14:09
Lap 4/13

No change at the front, although Bezzecchi dropped off a bit that lap.

Bagnaia now coming under pressure from Di Giannantonio who just set the fastest lap of the race.

14:07
Lap 3/13

Marquez from Marquez and Bezzecchi still at the front. It's the second of the Marquezes that looks the more comfortable at the moment, though.

Bagnaia pressuring Quartararo but cannot find a way through. Again, we've been here before with the Italian on Saturday afternoons.

14:06
Lap 2/13

Marquez leads Marquez. We've been here before.

Bezzrcchi passes Quartararo for third at the final chicane, and fastest lap of the race for the Italian that time by. He's still in the mix for the lead.

14:05
Lap 1/13

Marc Marquez leads lap one thanks to a pass on Quartararo at the final chicane.

Alex Marquez up to second at turn one on lap two.

Bagnaia back to fifth from second on the grid after he was passed by Alex Marquez at turn eight and then Bezzecchi at the chicane.

14:04

Joan Mir crashed at turn four.

Also contact between Fernandez and Morbidelli at turn five. Fernandez off into the gravel and he's sent to the back.

14:03
Sprint start

It's lights out at Assen and it's Quartararo who takes the early lead.

Strong start from Marc Marquez, he's up to second, Bagnaia back to third. Alex Marquez fourth.

14:00
Warm-up lap

Riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the Sprint.

13:55
Conditions

It's cloudy in Assen, but dry. Temperatures marginally up on yesterday's afternoon Practice: 22C air, 29C ground with five minutes before the start.

13:53
Early tyre choice

Unsurprising to see everyone on a soft-compound rear tyre for their initial tyre choice ahead of the Sprint.

Similarly, everyone on soft-compound front tyres at the moment. Of course, there were a number of crashes in yesterday's FP2 session on the medium-compound front.

Maverick Vinales tried the medium front again this morning but only did one lap before switching back to the soft.

13:46
Sighting lap

15 minutes to go before the 13-lap Sprint gets underway. Riders are now off on their sighting lap.

13:45
KTM difficulties

KTM, in particular Maverick Vinales and Pedro Acosta, has looked strong this weekend. But neither Vinales nor Acosta could qualify on the front two rows this morning.

Acosta was the faster of the two in ninth, while Vinales will start the Sprint from 10th.

13:44
Bastianini penalty

Enea Bastianini picked up a three-place grid penalty in qualifying for blocking Alex Rins.

However, that will only take effect in tomorrow's race. Today, he'll start 17th.
