Julian Simon, fastest on day one of the Jerez 125cc test, pulled over one second clear of Aspar Aprilia team-mate and nearest rival Bradley Smith during Tuesday's second day of track action.

Despite a fall, Simon set a best time of 1min 47.908sec during his 50 laps, an improvement of 0.967sec compared with Monday. Smith lowered his own lap time by 0.45sec to sit 0.538sec clear of third placed Sandro Cortese, the top non-Aprilia rider.
