Biaggi recovering after operation.

MotoGP star Max Biaggi has started an expected two month recovery period after undergoing surgery yesterday (Tuesday) to repair his broken leg and ankle, sustained after falling from a Supermoto bike last Saturday.

The Italian's accident occurred at low speed while practising with friends for the upcoming Italian Supermoto GP at Latina. The Roman broke his left fibula and ankle in the fall and - after an examination by MotoGP physician Dr Claudio Costa - was sent to Lyon, France, for an operation.

MotoGP star Max Biaggi has started an expected two month recovery period after undergoing surgery yesterday (Tuesday) to repair his broken leg and ankle, sustained after falling from a Supermoto bike last Saturday.

The Italian's accident occurred at low speed while practising with friends for the upcoming Italian Supermoto GP at Latina. The Roman broke his left fibula and ankle in the fall and - after an examination by MotoGP physician Dr Claudio Costa - was sent to Lyon, France, for an operation.

Biaggi remains under the supervision of Dr Costa and is expected to leave hospital tomorrow (Thursday) and return to his Monaco home. Physiotherapy will begin in two weeks time and, while Max will surely miss the next HRC test at the end of this month, he will be hoping to return to action as soon as the winter testing ban is lifted on January 15.
